Super Rugby 2020: Crusaders confirm home stadium for Super Rugby Aotearoa

The Crusaders have confirmed OrangeTheory Stadium as their home ground for their Super Rugby Aotearoa campaign.

When the revamped competition was announced last week, the Christchurch-based franchise was still working through the financials of hosting their four home games.

OrangeTheory Stadium joins Hamilton’s FMG Stadium (Chiefs), Wellington’s Sky Stadium (Hurricanes) and Dunedin’s Forsyth Barr Stadium (Highlanders) as venues for the 2020 campaign.

The Blues have yet to lock in their regular base at Auckland’s Eden Park.

The Crusaders haven’t lost a game at the ground since 2016 and coach Scott Robertson is predictably pleased any uncertainty has now been dispelled.

Super Rugby Aotearoa will see the five NZ-based Super Rugby clubs play one another, home and away, over 10 weeks, with two matches every weekend.

The Crusaders have a bye in round one and will play their first game against the Hurricanes on Sunday, June 21 in Wellington.

The side’s first home fixture is against the Chiefs on Sunday, June 28.
